There's something about the sound of rain on a cloudy day that makes me uber productive.
The introvert in me is absolutely giddy when it rains. My favorite, favorite are rainy beach days, but I'll take a rainy fall afternoon too! As I plug along on my first kid's bedroom, something I didn't realize I've really been dying to do, I've come across a few things that caught my happy eye.
I hope you have a minute to poke around online this rainy afternoon and enjoy some of these beauties. They're all very refreshing blogs you should totally add to your blogroll!
Domaine home offers a "French Girl Decorating" post that was pretty interesting. I'm in love with the idea of rationalizing silk drapes for any room/ anytime!
I spent more time than I should have Tuesday morning perusing the 20 designers and decorators involved in the latest round of the One Room Challenge. The challenge is finishing one room in six weeks- every contributor posts weekly updates of their projects, so you get to see how everyone operates. Super fun idea! I think my favorite is probably Christine Dovey of Bijou and Boheme. She's working on her own master bath. Here are a few photos of this project as well as her crazy beautiful house--I die!
So good, right? Get on over and marvel at her beautiful home tour and portfolio!
Is it weird to be this excited about a bathroom? I guess it's what this bathroom represents. This blogger, who I've never ever met gave me the crazy idea that I could start my own business. She shared her path from finding a family home and renovating it as her first on-her-own project and is now sharing her recently acquired Office Space!!? It's so crazy how excited I am for Amber Interiors, I suppose it's a pretty selfish excitement. The kind that leads me to believe that if other furniture obsessed, kilim loving, brass light fixture pushing, designer/decorators can find happiness and success maybe there's hope for me after all. Anyway, if you haven't already today, you should definitely stop by Amber Interiors' blog.
XX, and happy grey afternoon to you all!
