I'm plugging along checking off a few items from my "home to do list". I get more than a little bummed working every day to make my clients' dream homes a reality only to come home to a partially completed, less than "dream" house of my own. I have both long term and short term "to do" lists going. The short term one includes small projects I'd like to get done like building a fence in our back yard, painting the exterior of our house, and putting hardwood in our upstairs. The long term list is for an addition we're saving for that would give us another bathroom and a half, a more usable kitchen, and beautiful, glazed french doors in our kitchen to brighten our tiny little house.
This weekend I (read my husband and his friend) hung some bike racks and coat hooks. It's the little things, i guess. Things at least feel a little neater in our 'faux entry' area. I also upholstered a stool that was a cleaned up curb-find for bags/ guest belongings. Pictures will follow,if anyone's interested in seeing my snail's pace progress.
This is a house I found online and would add all these photos to my "dream house" pinterest board. It feels completely perfect for me. Dark at times, glowing and ethereal at times, with a touch of modern dark railing and beautiful asian inspired gardens. It's by architect Stephen Jolson, built for the Boyd family and dubbed "the Bridge House".
A girl can dream, right?
Here's to hoping I'll end up calling this beautiful place mine wile you enjoy your own perfect "dream" home.
